ONE SELF PORTRAIT EVERY DAY in 2020 : 251

I haven’t been feeling that well for a few days and tonight it’s a bit worse. Nothing bad, just odd. Anyway, it’s nine-thirty pm and I’m thinking “early night will do me a world of good” and then “oh, feck, that fecking photo of the day”. I’m thinking, I’ll do something really quick, it doesn’t matter what it is as long as I don’t miss a day. I’m frantically searching for a prop … a copy of Our Man in Havana, ‘Graham Green is probably my favourite author” NO. A photo in the mirror? done it too many times. Maybe I can wear my black hat? Not again. What about this scarf? That’s it. I’m picturing Steve McCurry’s portrait of the Afghan girl with scarf. That will do. 5 minutes later, done! I’m not sure if it’s any good but this project I started on January first has managed to speed up the time it takes for me to go from initial concept to final product.
