ONE SELF PORTRAIT EVERY DAY in 2020 : 250

I discovered Indigo Richard’s pills in 2016 during a QWERTY therapy at ArtHelix in Bushwick during Sluice Exchange Rates. She was offering a choice of pills: the pink ones gave you a grounding in art history from I think Giotto to high modernism and the black ones would give you a better understanding of Conceptual Art including, I think, Duchamp. I went for the pink ones as at the time I thought I had the conceptual stuff covered. I usually don’t believe in stuff like this – quick fixes – but believe me, it worked. It took about 30 minutes before I could confidently discuss anything from early Renaissance art to the mid sixties. The effect doesn’t last for ever but for a good few months it served me well. In May 2016, during Susak Expo, Indigo gave me a couple of black pills to help me cope with the conceptual contradictions of the expo. Then in November that year, in Berlin, I took one of each at QWERTY Salvation / Green Maria. Then QWERTY had an exhibition with Sračok & Pöhlmann that took place in studio1.1, London in October 2019 (QWERTYUIOPÅ) and I was kindly gifted these pills that I will only use in an emergency.
