ONE SELF PORTRAIT EVERY DAY in 2020 : 328

Today I decided to smile for the camera and it has been a terrifying experience. I thought it would be straight forward; I would say “cheese” and that would be that. I know that I am not completely of sound mind but each photo I took made me look like a lunatic. I must have taken more than 50 and each one made me look sadder than the previous one. I was thinking of Bas Jan Ader’s “I’m too sad to tell you” and how it would be easier to cry. Anyway, I settled for this one where I look just mildly deranged. I’m glad I don’t smile for photos.
