So, here’s something from my Devlin side: my grandmother wrote a book about my grandfather’s brother who was a Gesuit priest. I never read that book but Katarina did and she was very taken by him and would every now and then tell me something about my great uncle.

During the war (WW2) he had been a chaplain to the British Army in Aleppo (Siria) and had published it’s first guidebook.

We bought the booklet on Abe books, it’s a second edition from 1944 and in perfect condition.

It’s sad to think of the suffering and destruction this city has endured in recent years.
